Post Adoption Support

Pathways understand that the journey does not end when a child is placed in your home, this is only the beginning.

Counseling and Therapy Grants

Counseling and therapy can be a useful tool to support families, adult adoptees and birth mothers in different phases of their journey. Pathways seeks to provide financial support for those who need adoption-competent and trauma-informed counseling. This may include but is not limited to:

Marriage Counseling Family Counseling Individual Counseling Play Therapy

Conference and Retreat Scholarships

Pathways for Little Feet recognizes how valuable the opportunity to attend a conference and/or retreat can be for a parent, marriage, family, adult adoptee or birth parent to renew, connect, equip or learn. The Conference and Retreat Scholarship program provides financial support for those who are interested in these opportunities.

“Seriously, this is like a massive burden is lifted, and we feel so cared for and seen! Thank you so much for knowing the value and importance of trauma counseling! This is unbelievable.  God has just the most miraculous timing. We have been brainstorming how to tackle the counseling and medical bills in the best way that honors God with our time and abilities, this makes a drastic difference for us. Wow! "

“We have seen improvements in areas that I had really given up hope of seeing improvement. We really needed someone who specialized in counseling children who are adopted and their parents in the specific things that adoptive families usually needs to deal with. Thank you for your help. This grant has been a blessing to our family. We have been needing to start counseling and have been putting it off, and this is just the push our family needed to get started."

“If I could give any adoptive parent advice it would be to find your trauma-informed counselor before you begin the process of adopting, you are going to need them”

FAQ

Research tells us that adoption and the impacts on the individual and family are unique. Pathways understand that most insurance companies do not provide coverage for this type of care which is where Pathways hopes to assist.

If awarded, the counseling and therapy grants are provided through monthly reimbursement. We support up to $125/session and 80% of the session cost.

The counseling and therapy grants are provided as a monthly  reimbursement after the point of the award and moving forward. We do not reimburse for past expenses.

While Pathways recognizes the immense need for financial support in providing this type of care, at this time Pathways for Little Feet is not able to provide grants for this type of therapy and care.

Pathways is here to financially support your journey to healing. While we have some counseling centers that we can recommend depending on where you are located, we want you to either continue with your current provider or find a provider that works best for your specific need.

Absolutely! There are many benefits to beginning your counseling journey prior to your child joining your home.
